We are currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Supply Chain department at our headquarters in Shoreham-By-Sea.
Over the last 13 years, Cox Powertrain have been on a mission to deliver a revolutionary new concept in ultra-lightweight diesel engines with their market revolutionising CXO300. Since 2007, Cox has successfully raised over £120 million of private investment, to bring the outboard from a dream to a reality. Having begun production in May 2020, the CXO300 is becoming hugely popular in the market and demand is on the rise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency and process capability.
- Drive the standardisation of processes and best practices.
- Develop DFM, working closely with Design.
- Preparation and release of Work Instructions detailing critical assembly operations and characteristics.
- Maintain KPI targets in line with business strategy.
- Assist in activities relating to new products, equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Respond to and resolve equipment/tooling breakdowns.
- Perform analysis of manufacturing defects / process failures to determine root cause & develop corrective actions.
- Planning and organisation of maintenance activities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
NECESSARY
- HNC or above in Manufacturing, but other engineering sectors will be considered.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a production environment.
- Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies and systems planning.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Experience using 2D & 3D CAD software.
- Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred.
- Proven ability to self-manage and deliver on time to budget.
- Excellent inter-personal skills to build relationship internally and externally.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and flexible in their approach.
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Previous experience working with an MES and DC Tooling would be advantageous, however not essential.
- Machining skills such as Milling and Turning would be advantageous to help support maintenance and prototype tooling activities.
