We are currently recruiting a Operational Buyer to join the Operations department at our headquarters in Shoreham-By-Sea.

Over the last 13 years, Cox Powertrain has been on a mission to deliver a revolutionary new concept in ultra-lightweight diesel engines with their market-revolutionising CXO300. Since 2007, Cox has successfully raised over £120 million of private investment, to bring the outboard from a dream to a reality. Having begun production in May 2020, the CXO300 is becoming hugely popular in the market and demand is on the rise.



  • Responsible for raising and sending purchase orders to the suppliers in accordance with the MPS and SIOP processes.
  • Responsible for creating and sending supplier schedules in accordance with the MPS and SIOP processes.
  • Responsible for conducting regular delivery schedule reviews with our suppliers in accordance with the MPS process and the ABC risk matrix, providing delivery confirmations and updating ERP accordingly.
  • Responsible for ensuring part availability and flow of materials. Where necessary expediting to ensure compliance with the delivery schedule and escalating issues to the supplier action log.
  • Responsible for driving corrective action with our suppliers in collaboration with the wider team, in particular the Supplier Account Teams (SAT – SQE/Strategic Buyers/Systems Engineering).
  • Responsible for measuring and reporting on supplier delivery performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating ERP master data parameters on lead time, MOQs, safety time and safety stock.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with the suppliers through open, clear and concise communication. This will include visits to our suppliers.
  • Responsible for resolving issues with suppliers or escalating to the strategic buying team where necessary.
  • Responsible for resolving any invoicing, delivery and documentation issues associated with relevant suppliers.
  • Responsible for collecting supplier information such as (but not limited to) country of origin and HS codes.



  • Demonstratable understanding of ERP systems, particularly purchasing and planning functionality.
  • Highly driven with regards to securing material availability and sustaining the Master Production Schedule.
  • Excellent internal and external communications skills – must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and openly.
  • Demonstratable experience building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.


  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment with a strong working knowledge of standard processes and procedures.
  • Demonstratable experience driving performance improvement within the supply chain.
  • Demonstratable experience working with suppliers to resolve conflict.
  • CIPS level 3 (or equivalent).
