Cox Marine Showcases CXO300 and HVO use at Boot, Dusseldorf

This year’s show provides a prominent platform to showcase Cox’s CXO300 to the world’s leisure market with a focus on alternative fuel sources and sustainability.

Attending Europe’s leading recreational boat show provides us the platform to reach a wide range of leisure boat owners and promote the real-world benefits of using diesel to fuel high performance outboard.

Boot, Dusseldorf, 21 to 29 January, Hall 10, C60

Offering a high-performance solution designed to surpass emission targets, our European representatives, led by our EMEA Regional Director, Harry Heasman, will be highlighting the green benefits of the 300hp CXO300, that officially supports the use of HVO, alongside a range of other advantages including fuel efficiency, storage safety, reliability, high peak torque, and smooth and quiet operation.

Harry Heasman, Regional Director for EMEA, said:

“Attending Europe’s leading recreational boat show provides us the platform to reach a wide range of leisure boat owners and promote the real-world benefits of using diesel to fuel high performance outboard. Our existing industry partners already benefit from using the CXO300 which offers reduced emissions, better fuel economy, increased safety, and high performance. We want to ensure that more boat owners fully understand, and have access to, this modern and environmentally friendly marine technology.”

Introducing our diesel outboard engine to meet evolving emissions regulations across the world, the CXO300 achieved the stringent BSO-II Bodensee emission standard for both single, and more recently, twin installations operating on the protected waters of Lake Constance in 2022, in collaboration with our Swedish and German distributor Diesel Power AB.

The engine produces 20-35% less CO2 emissions than comparable gasoline outboards when fuelled with standard diesel, and up to 94% less CO2 than comparable gasoline outboards when fuelled with HVO, contributing to global efforts to protect natural environments.

As a paraffinic bio-based liquid fuel, HVO originates from many kinds of vegetable oils, such as rapeseed, sunflower, soybean, and palm oil, as well as animal fats. It has a higher flash point than traditional diesel, as well as a lower environmental footprint.

HVO is a true ‘drop-in replacement’ for conventional diesel. Tanks and fuel lines do not need to be cleaned when changing between the two fuels, and the CXO300’s ECUs (Electronic Control Units) will automatically reset and optimise the engine for the fuel in use, whether HVO or diesel, just as they also do for the slightly different grades of diesel available around the world.

Delivering 479 lb. Ft torque at 2250-3000 revolutions per minute, our high-powered CXO300 allows your vessel to move through the water in a much more controlled and smooth manner, while also meeting the demands for a high performing outboard engine and ensuring safety and convenience at the same time.

With up to 30% better fuel efficiency, compared to a 300hp gasoline outboard, and with a service life that is three times your average outboard, our CXO300 not only provides unique fuel savings, but it also provides exceptional total cost of ownership savings.

To ensure our CXO300 is a clean burning engine, it has been put through a series of rigorous testing programmes and has successfully achieved EPA Tier 3, RCD II, IMO II and BSO II.

Supported by a network of 30 distributors covering over 100 territories, the CXO300 outboard engine is available to order across the globe.
