Cox Powertrain Wins Innovation Award at Seawork International Show

Southampton, UK, Tuesday 11 June 2019 – Cox Powertrain, the British diesel innovator behind the world’s first 300hp diesel outboard has won the Innovative Marine Power Award at the European Commercial Marine Awards at the show for its game-changing engine, the CXO300.

The award, sponsored by A-Plan Insurance, celebrates the outstanding individuals and innovative companies that comprise this vibrant and productive industry sector. All products involved in the awards included new vessels or projects that were launched or completed within the last 12 months and are completely innovative, as opposed to a product enhancement.

“We are very proud to be handed the Innovative Marine Power Award,” Faye Dooley, Marketing Communications Manager at Cox Powertrain commented at the waterfront Golden Arrow Marine restaurant, where the awards were presented. “Not only have we worked hard to create an innovative product, we have also redefined the standards in service and we are extremely proud to be recognised for this.”

The final concept of the CXO300 is based on the proven technology of a 4-stroke, V8 architecture. It offers at least a 25% better range compared to a gasoline outboard and is designed to last up to three times longer. It has a package volume, around half that of a state-of-the-art diesel inboard with comparable fuel efficiency.
